For clear glowing skin, you should also try to steam your face at least once a week.
Facial steaming is a DIY skincare exercise that allows you to reap the benefits of a refreshed skin. It unclogs pores and increases circulation leaving your skin unclogged, clean and glowing.
Facial steaming also hydrates and softens your skin, clarifies skin’s complexion, and makes your skin more receptive to skincare treatments.

Good enough, you can always add scents, herbs, and oils to your steam treatment for a complete spa experience right at the comfort of your home.
When it comes to steaming your face, there are a couple of techniques you can use- using a basin with warm water, hot towels, or a face steamer.
While the first two techniques are common and very affordable, they are quite risky since you risk skin burns if not so careful with the steam. However, when it comes to using a face steamer, things are much easier.
That’s why Vanity Planet’s Aera Facial Steamer is one of our favorite tech beauty products! And in this article, we’ll let you know why we love it and how it can help upgrade your self-care session at home.
The Aera Facial Steamer comes in a well-packaged box that includes the iconic facial steamer itself, 3 essential oil baskets to prevent mixing of oils, and a user’s guide.

To Use the Aera’s Facial Steamer…
Before Using Aera
Remove the water tank and unscrew the plug.
Carefully add distilled water to the tank up to the ‘Min’ level but no higher than the ‘Full’ mark. Close the tank and fasten the plug.
Put the water tank back into Aira until it clicks into position.
Wash your face first before using Aira for a more effective steaming session. However, avoid exfoliating but instead, do a mild or gentle cleanse.
Adjust the nozzle to the desired height. Make sure to only adjust the nozzle when the device is off.
Note…
The tank is only meant to hold distilled water so do not fill it with essential oils or other liquids. Tap water can cause the build-up of limescale in the device and shorten its lifespan.
Thus, for a full spa experience, soak the basket’s foam portion with your essential oil and place it on the device’s nozzle. Then press the Power button!
Using Aera
Put your Aira on a flat, secure, and water-resistant surface. Plug in the AC adapter and press the Power button which will light the blue indicator light and begin heating the distilled water.
After about a minute, steam will begin to rise from the nozzle but it is after two more minutes that the steam will be ready for your detoxifying session.
Close your eyes and begin moving your face towards the plume of steam so that steam covers your entire face.
Aira will automatically shut off after 15 minutes or if the water tank is empty.
Note…
Make sure you are no closer than 25 centimeters from the nozzle to avoid any risk of burns.
You can also use spa headbands to protect your ears.

After Using Aera
When you’re done with the session, be sure to unplug the AC adapter.
Smooth a clay mask over your face and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before washing it away with warm water and patting your face dry with a towel.
This draws out dirt from your pores since steam treatment often leaves your pores wide open.
Tone your face to help close your pores back up using a cotton ball. Afterward, moisturize your face before wearing any makeup! Do not use a strong exfoliant after steaming since it might cause inflammation.
Let Aera cool for about 10 minutes before trying to clean and store it.
Note…
To clean Aera, empty and clean the water tank after each and every use, making sure to remove any grease or residue. To clean the nozzle and base of the device, simply use a soft, slightly damp cloth and then wipe them dry.

I have combination skin that requires frequent exfoliation to keep the glow. While I’m already used to that, incorporating steaming in my routine has significantly reduced the number of times I exfoliate my face in a month-going for at most 3 exfoliating sessions in a month.
Right now, steaming is my favorite thing to do and I can always step up the game with essential oils too- for the glow, a refreshed morning, or a good night’s sleep.
If you were looking for a way to step up your skincare game without breaking the bank, it is time you include facial steaming in your skincare routine.
